Thrifty Campervan

Thrifty camper van furniture comprises of curtains all around, a day sofa which converts to one double or two single beds, a storage cabinet and fold down table.  A weather proof awning with ground sheet fits over the rear door to give standing room.  Prepare dinner while standing in the awning or sitting on the sofa, using the double gas cooker, kitchen utensils and water container. 

The cooker is located at the rear of the campervan with convenient access to the storage cabinet and table.  240 volt power and hanging light can be connected when staying at holiday parks.  Sleep with the rear door open and awning attached, or with all the doors closed.  Mosquito netting is provided for the front passenger door to allow fresh air. 

Thrifty camper van rentals are a Toyota Townace with 1500 or 1800 cc petrol engine.  Standard vehicles have two seatbelts and models with three seatbelts are available on request.

Cook Stait Ferry:
All campervans are less than 5.5 meters in length and classed as a car for Wellington to Picton ferry.

Insurance (included): Standard excess is $2,000
Our standard insurance excess on all of our vehicles is $2,000. This is the most you would have to pay in the unlikely event of an accident. This covers both single and multiple vehicle accidents.

Zero Excess (optional): $15 per day or maximum $300 per hire
You can choose to purchase the Zero Excess, which means if you have an accident, you do not have to pay anything. This also includes multiple tyre punctures.
